The Personality of Power

DUAL WORLD
On our dual world of day & night, power is a full circle instrument. It can be used as a source of light to turn on other people, or as a weapon of darkness to overwhelm and control them. It is the province of both masters and monsters, and it is a deeply defining attribute of each of us, for we all hold the power of the Eternal within us, and have the limitless potential to express it, as well as all of eternity to learn how to do so.
During our long Lunar Age, when women were central to our continuance, men served as extra fodder in skirmishes and on the hunt, for less of them were needed to create the next generation. It was the women who defined the social webs, through their power of procreation, so that the men had to be far more competitive to insure that they were also of vital importance to the survival of everyone else.
This contrast allowed the two sexes to evolve along completely different lines. Women would retain their strong sense of Earthly social connection, as well as their bond with the Eternal, because of their innate role as bearers and continuers of life. Men would pursue a gradually increasing pathway of separation and self-interest, because of their unconscious need to make themselves more needed.
When our Solar Age dawned some 12,000 years ago, and people began to live outside of nature in more and more complex communities, men were able to step right into the power breech created by this profound change. They had already developed a sense of competitive separation, and with it, an incipient impulse towards self-involvement, so they were far more ready and eager to go solar than women were, since the latter collectively felt that living lunar was far more consistent with eternal existence than flaring up or burning out in the sun could ever be.
It would largely be men, then, who would define the Solar Age, creating his/story or his story in their collective search for power as a tool of dominance, control and competitive self-definition, rather than connection and inspiration, two lunar traits that would largely be sacrificed to the myopia of solar self-interest.
The innate sense of disconnection and separation of the male of the species would go on to drive the subsequent rhythms of civilization, as a way of finishing off our universe’s spiraling trio of creation & continuance with their synthesis of destruction and/or re-creation, which is the full cycle of all things that exist inside of eternity.

Dynasts Club
One of the major root civilizations of our Solar Age was ancient Egypt. The Egyptians brought humanity squarely down to Earth through their towering pyramidal monuments to the dead, along with their rituals of burial and mummification. They gave grave import to life having been lived on Earth, by preserving it and memorializing it in spectacular fashion. Our planet’s potential for monumentality also turned our collective eyes away from the heavens and to the landscapes in front of us, for we now saw we had the power to bedazzle even the gods with the grandeur of our designs and constructs to their glory.
The well-preserved Egyptian pharaohs were the initial recipients of our solar need to be remembered and renowned, and they may be looked upon as the fathers of the separated solar self. They were viewed as the direct sons of the gods from birth, so they represented individuality at its highest and most exaggerated, as a statement of the direct power of the divine.
The early kingdoms of Egypt lasted for well over a millennium, before being replaced by a foreign force of warrior nobles and their vassals from Asia Minor and the Middle East, thereby adding new practices and beliefs to the usurped country. The interlopers reigned for several generations before being overthrown around 1550 years prior to the Christian Era, and were replaced by the XVIIIth dynasty, which would inaugurate the New Kingdom, Egypt’s last glorious romp through antiquity.
As overseer of a resurrected major force in the ancient world, the XVIIIth dynasty seems to have harbored a longtime, deeply interconnected family, who would personally go on to spearhead the Solar Age, by giving it a distinctive personality of power. Because all its members would have outsized views of themselves dating from their supreme solar roles as pharaohs, they would consistently bring that same larger-than-life sense of self to all their subsequent center-stage lives.
Little is really known of any of them personally, but their patterns of accomplishment seem to be consistent with the early Roman emperors, a millennium and change later. That parade of warriors, madmen and politicians, along with their support crews, bear more than passing resemblance to many of the subsequent figures who went on to play musical chairs with the various thrones of the major European powers during the millennia that followed.
The XVIII dynasty, then, may have been a very visible template for many of the West’s major political players over the next 3000 years, introducing a longtime family to the dynastic ways of Western Civilization at the highest level, in order to set them loose in the annals of our record-keepers. Our Earth would become their personal world stage, allowing them to play out their grandest and most prosaic power fantasies, just as other worlds and other times hold the same potential for all families in all of Time’n’Space who wish to investigate themselves at their most self-renowned.

Akhnaton Acts Up
It would be one of their later pharaohs, Amenhotep IV (?-1336BZ), the 9th male member of his house to rule, who would be one of the true inaugural figures of the Solar Age, acting out its excesses to come.
He was an obsessive character who reduced Egypt’s busy heavens to One God, Aton, a sun god, in order to be that deity’s direct and singular reflection on Earth. Renaming himself Akhnaton, or servant of Aton, he would prove to be an extremely self-serving attendant, vigorously and violently suppressing all other views of the heavens, while ham-handedly recreating Egypt’s religious life. Akhnaton quickly separated himself from his ruling house’s past, by building a new capital city. He then let all other considerations of state slide, save for his mania for building and sponsoring art that glorified his beliefs, in order to dive deep into his own unquestioned oneness with divinity, while summarily dispatching all who disagreed with his stance.
The unstable Akhnaton was the perfect example of the disconnection that the self must undergo from the natural collectivity of living, in order to be singularly self-aware. As a literal sun god, he was self-absorption taken to its most absurd heights, parodying the very first step all of us must take in redirecting ourselves from lunar to solar: selfishly becoming more self-involved.
The solar stage of our collective development teaches us who we are through disconnection, allowing us to explore ourselves as largely cut-off entities, after we were literally inside each other on every level during our long lunar childhood. This adolescent separation process has created an endless procession of self-important I’s, who have provided the subsequent competitive conflicts to build grander and grander civilizations, in order to compensate for their unconscious loss of a larger intimacy with those around them. Without this need to separate and re-define ourselves by our very own accomplishments, we would still be selfless servants of the natural world, instead of self-serving ones living unnaturally outside of it.
Madness, megalomania, mental aberration and murderous intent, are all solar traits of the self at their most extreme, when it has separated itself so far from the world around it, that it can no longer function in any reality other than its distorted own. Our current planet, which defines itself by its divides far more than its connections, is a direct reflection of the steady solarization of the world.
These last unfortunate 12,000 years have been a necessary process to help us develop our singularity, and mercifully, they should be the shortest of our first three basic stages here. The next one, the stellar, is the synthesis of the first two, and should reunite our lunar sense of group belonging and direct connection to the Eternal, with our solar eccentricity and individuality, so that both are served.
By heading out to the stars, which we are destined to do, since our own burning hearthstar is eating itself alive, we will unite this planet as a stellar player, and begin to collectively explore more unifying ways to view ourselves. That idealized scenario, however, is the future, if we ever choose to make it happen. For the moment, most of us remain standing naked and alone in the sunlight, wondering what everyone else is thinking, when in the lunar long ago, we just knew.

Black Hole Messiah
During Akhnaton’s time, Egypt was not ready to go solar as a people. As soon as he made his exit, which may have been hastened by an inconsiderate relative, all reference to him was viciously destroyed, his city was razed, and Egypt went back to the way it was. Within less than a generation, a new dynasty had replaced his house, as if to permanently eradicate him. But he had reintroduced a solar seed that had already rooted among his subjects, the subjugated Hebrews, and they would carry it with them after they had been expelled from Egypt numerous generations later, to create a solar kingdom of their own.
Akhnaton was the great builder/destroyer, for all that he had fashioned was immediately obliterated afterwards. His archetype would anchor a whole slew of crazed characters down through Time’n’Space. All followed his desire to experience the absolute madness of absolute power, and to build glorious monuments to it, both real and fanciful. He would be the ultimate separated self, playing the unbalanced tyrant again and again, in the company of his longtime supporting cast, only to become further and further removed from everyone else’s reality the longer he stayed in power, as if to underline the inherent dangers of solar disconnection at its most extreme.
Akhnaton links up with Herod the Great (73-4BZ), the Roman-appointed King of the Jews, who was also a prolific builder and supporter of the arts, but ultimately went into solar shock over the rumored coming of a rival King of Jews. As he slipped off into madness, Herod wound up slaughtering all innocents who might fulfill that prophecy, as well as several members of his own family, before making his own pain-wracked exit, after an earlier failed suicide attempt, just prior to the birth of the Christian Era.
The Roman Emperor, Nero (37-68), long a symbol of decadent madness, seems to be his next attempt at reconciling his sense of the builder and destroyer, which came together when he burned down one half of Rome after setting a fire as backdrop to one of his performances. An enthusiastic persecutor of the new Christian sect, whom he blamed for the disaster, he executed two of its primary apostles, Peter and Paul, before he ultimately died by his own hand, mourning himself in his last breath, as a great artist, while ending his line’s run on the throne.
Akhnaton, Herod and Nero were bona fide lunatics, whose demented actions inadvertently aided the spread of Judeo/Christianity, through championing the concept of One God, giving graphic and bloody acknowledgment to the legend of a coming messiah, and then martyring the twin heralds of the full-scale Solar Age to come. As exemplars of the lunacy of the sun, that serial triad of lives would act out the long shadow of the solar self, which always seems to accomplish the opposite of what it sets out to do, because it loses all sight of everything around it.
After a slew of equally disturbing performances over the next 2 millennia, this former self-serving servant of Aton, the Sun God, would give his culminating burlesque in this line as the failed artist and German Fuhrer, Adolf Hitler (1889-1945). An enthusiastic builder and patron of highly theatrical politics, he would take maniacal umbrage at the descendants of the very peoples who brought to life his earlier One God view, for he now viewed himself as greater than human, with the power to erase whole races and raise the martial hackles of the world.
Following a forced reassessment of that view by the end of the War-to-End-All-Wars, Part II, he placed a gun in his mouth and made yet another inglorious exit, but not before rebuking everyone else for his failures. Three years after his departure, Israel, the ancient land of the Hebrews, sprung into being again, after nearly two millennia, as a reaction to the horror that he had unleashed in Europe in his attempt to exterminate not only the Jewish race, but also 6,000,000 others who did not fit his profile of Germanic purity.
The War-to-End-All-Wars, Part II, which lasted from 1939 to 1945, seems to have ended a long cycle of circular civilization. Within a dozen years of its conclusion, the Earth would begin to change shape through the launching of satellites, transmuting itself into a triangular planet, where the shortest distance between any two points was a satellite in space, which could now connect them.
The communication revolution that followed was the start of the Stellar Age, where our planet ultimately unifies, if it ever can past its tribal, religious, economic, geographic, cultural and sexual separations, and all the other vestiges of disconnected solardom. Communications are the key to do so, and, at the very least, the link-up technology has been developed to ultimately bring this world together, if a comparable link-up consciousness can be found to mirror it.
Akhnaton to Adolf Hitler, then, gives powerful public face to the tyranny of absolute power here. Millions have perished under this serial soul’s combined edicts, yet this strange figure has continued to be allowed to act out the lunacy of the sun gone mad. The lives he has led between his excessive displays on the public stage remain largely hidden, and yet he, or his basic mad tyrant archetype, has been invited again and again, by royal birth and popular acclaim, to indiscriminately kill all who stand in the way of his ongoing solar vision of the Earth.
He is a teacher of the true darkness that lies at the heart of the sun, when it is so blinded by its own self-proclaimed brilliance that it can no longer see beyond itself. This lesson has had to be repeated over and over because the rest of us, on a collective level, haven’t gotten past a need for his archetype. Maybe he is repeatedly invoked by the powers of self-absorbed self-importance of our world in order to keep showing them the folly of their excessive disconnected ways.
Perhaps on other worlds and in other realities, he manifests the opposite side of his nature, so that wherever he is invoked, he knows innately how to bring people what they need, whether it is mass upliftment or mass debasement. In our reality he remains a primary totem of political savagery at its most degrading. But he may have also reached a degree in his own personal evolution of understanding power on both a world-building and world-destroying level that makes him a true servant of the will of his times, and beyond the ordinary rules that bind the rest of us.
Because he is one of a small handful who can rile the entire planet, he may have been deliberately placed in Time’n’Space to flush out the accumulated shabbiness of humanity, forcing the world to look at itself aghast before it can enter its next stage, and begin its sad stockpiling again.
His virtuosity at inspiring both love & hate, seems to indicate that his long pathway through this planet was purposefully conceived in darkness long ago, so that he may be looked on as a black hole messiah, who is periodically invoked to tear portions of this planet apart so that they may begin rebuilding themselves again. Like the prophets who magically materialize here in order to bring light and illumination, so do the black hole messiahs appear in order to offer a countervailing fog to it. This is, after all, a planet of brilliant daylight and darkest night, and all who sprout from seed here are given stark option twixt the two, including the very prophets and messiahs, black hole and otherwise, who come to give us moral choice.

Virtual His’n’HerStory
Our planet is part of a vast virtual reality carved out of the Eternal, in order for the rest of us to experience the definitive beginnings of biological birth and the summary endings of biological death. Since it is a programmed system, its basic story was probably etched in when it was created, giving a template to his/story that would be filled in later by those who wished to personally act out its various public roles. Even before any of the towering figures of our extended times drew a breath, their lives, their dramas and their interconnections were all sketched in, leaving them the option of choice once they entered into the designed seed that would sprout them.
A pattern of thrones was probably already outlined well before their occupants existed, in order to create consistent serial stories for them. These place settings in his’n’herstory then would be reserved for the small group of families awarded our world as their personal playground of power. So even before Akhnaton descended into the madness of Herod, Nero and Hitler, and the litany of names in between them, those lives were already loosely roughed out, and through his unique energy, he compelled them to happen and then made the personal choices to permanently ground them in the transcribed records of Time’n’Space.
Perhaps all of our lives here are already etched in, as well, to give each of us the course that was rudely conceived for us when first we went virtual. The choices we make then change the subsequent storylines, so that our lightly designed futures can veer in any number of directions.
This shadowy patterning gives Time’n’Space its potential functional order and disorder, while it allows us the freedom to follow all of the possible threads sewn here, since we have all of eternity to do so. We can all be sun deities somewhere, if we so choose, in the exploration of our solar selves, for their storylines have already been laid out, and all we have to do is find them, and manifest the skill to be them.

House Building
There is a certain rhythm to the great patriarchal political houses of the past. They begin with a founder who is both foundation-builder and rule-maker. He sets the initial patterns of the house, through dint of his powerful will, and if he is blessed with an equally formidable mate, his efforts are usually considerable. The second generation are the continuers. They have less imaginative substance than the founders, but they have the facility for continuance and can nurture their inheritances into solid properties. The third generation is the key, for they are the reformers. They adjust their houses to their own contemporary world, thereby moving them forward in time in order to insure that they remain intact for the generations to come.
The three reflect the trio of creation, continuance and synthesized re-creation, and follow the patterns of eternity in the temporal sphere. But since this is only a temporal sphere and not an eternal one, from the fourth generation on, the prospect of the weak seed begins to sprout, for they are the terminators, whose ineptness always ends their line. They bring destruction to the earlier re-creation and continuance processes and often show themselves to be empty reflections of the two key roles of founder and reformer, so as to complete circles of rule here in mirrored manner.
These four roles: founder, continuer, reformer and terminator have been the basic archetypes for power here since the time of the pharaohs, emperors and kings, when leadership was inherited.
Each of our ongoing power families have members working out those specific roles, so that when they inherit a throne, they have had several archetypal generations with which to fill it.
Since Roman times, the continent of Europe has evolved into distinct geographic personalities, and all in time became kingdoms, with the major ones rising to the level of empires. Since this was their world in which to shine above all others, each of the individual members of the XVIIIth dynasty, and their extended support families, came to identify with the development of each of these kingdoms, and keyed their own ongoing power runs to them.
Those who wished to ultimately follow the path of democracy and ethical protestantism, headed west to what would eventually become the Protestant states, and turned in their royal robes for that of the nobility before ultimately dipping into commonality to better understand the political movements they wished to personify.
Those who wished to hold onto absolute power for as long as they could, remained in the autocratic states, and when it came time to go common, they chose mass movements that could be controlled by a tiny coterie of activists.
All would ultimately hold a reincarnatory reunion around WW II, representing both opposing sides, as a crypto-reminder that their circular solar sphere had come to an end, and a brave new triangular stellar world was about to be unleashed on the planet.

The Lives
The lives presented here represent just a tiny portion of the total incarnations of all these individuals. All probably became ordinary citizens in the kingdoms they formerly headed to see how their rule affected those way beneath them. All worked on their various skills outside the public eye, so that some evinced great leaps forward in between reigns, while others probably had great difficulty when they were thrust down among the powerless, and continued their disconnected ways once they returned to power.
There are also lots of twin souls in the power realms, who come in together as parallel characters and act as either support or enemy to one another. Sometimes they buttress one another, other times they tear each other down in alternate lives, while using one another as competitive measuring sticks, in order to give further resonance to their skills and failings.
These lives also reflect our version of the Earth, which is the only one to which we currently have recorded access. There are an infinite amount of potential virtual worlds in Time’n’Space, thanks to all the parallel realities present, so that 4D Bios are only a mini-microscopic picture of the evolutionary rule of some of the individuals who have reflected the ongoing progression and regression of leadership on our planet.
Since these biographies only map a small swath of the West, they include a handful of Asian rulers, but no African or pre-Euro American lives of rule, although all who are represented here, rose and fell many times in those continental cultures as well, and they, too, hold small families who appear again and again on their stages, for this is their planet, too.
Even though many have chosen to appear on the public stage in the same sexual guise, everyone continually switches back and forth between genders. Learning how to do something in a male body and a female body are two different disciplines, however, and those working on one side of themselves at a time in the public arena, thread their storylines accordingly.
In the end, no one here takes power without being given it, from the personal to the global. There are agreements on many levels that are made that allow tyrants to rise or social movements to succeed, just as there are concordats to conclude them. This is a virtual world, after all, and it has been individually tailored to the needs of each of us, so that we always have a pretty good idea of what we’re getting into, even before we take our maiden gulp of air each time we enter Time’n’Space anew.
The big question that remains for all of us, the powerful and powerless alike, is what we’re going to try to get out of it, each time around, and therein lies the long and tumultuous tale of our small puzzling planet, and our mysterious and endlessly fascinating presence upon it.
